Nutrition During Pregnancy
When "eating for two ... or more" it is crucial that one eats
a nutritionally-balanced diet
with adequate protein, carbohydrate, fat and nutrients to accomodate one's special needs.
Another concern my patients have is monitoring their weight gain so that
they don't gain too much during each phase of their pregnancy,
but are getting their adequate nutritional needs in the process.
Also, if one plans to breast-feed after pregnancy,
nutritional requirements for lactation are also addressed
since one's nutritional needs increase at that time.
